The Lula Lake Land Trust (lulalake.org) maintains a portion of the land in the extreme northwest corner of Georgia through which Rock Creek flows and on which are two outstanding falls, small but beautiful Lula Lake and more than six miles of hiking trails. The area is open 9am-5pm for hiking, biking and picnicking on the first and last Saturday of each month throughout the year. Pets are welcome on a leash. The 1-mile level trail from the parking area to the falls and lake is graveled and follows an old railroad bed which years ago was used to haul coal. Because Rock Creek is a high-mountain stream the flow is dependent on recent rainfall and the falls will have less flow during dry periods. However, because the lake and falls are located near the top of Lookout Mountain, the area with its rock outcrops, vistas and unusual geological features is a beautiful and interesting place to visit even when Rock Creek has low water flow. |

| Directions from Dalton, Georgia: North on I-75 about 14 miles to Hwy. 2. Continue west on Hwy. 2 approximately 10 miles to Hwy. 193. Left on Hwy. 193 approximately 2.5 miles to Nick-A-Jack Road on the right at a right turning lane. Turn right on Nick-A-Jack Rd. continuing up Lookout Mountain to a T-intersection. Turn right and go 1.9 miles to a gravel road entrance to the land trust on the right. (At about 1.5 miles, continue straight where Highway 157 turns off to the left.)
