This 50 ft. high falls is near the headwaters of Turniptown Creek in the Rich Mountain Wilderness Area in Gilmer County. To reach the falls turn left on Turniptown Rd. 1.5 miles East of Elijay on Hwy 52E. After 3.7 miles reach Walnut Mountain subdivision and continue on Turniptown Rd. 2.4 miles first on paved road and then on gravel road before reaching the first of two fords. The road ends at a gate 4 miles after leaving the Walnut Mountain subdivision. Park the vehicle in a turn around at the right. The trail to the falls is about 2 miles gaining approximately 900 ft. in elevation. Wade Turniptown Creek just past the gate and continue on the old logging road up the left side of the creek. The first 0.3 miles will be on private land before entering the Rich Mountain Wilderness Area so take care to gain permission to walk through the property. The logging road crosses the creek twice more as it continues along the creek. It is best to stay on the left side of the creek and join the logging road soon after crossing Aaron Creek which joins Turniptown Creek from the left at 0.6 miles. The logging road will follow the creek and after a steep incline will leave the creek for a while. Continue up the mountain and after crossing a ridge the falls will be clearly visible on the right. The trail is heavily grown up in places and sometimes difficult to follow in the summer.
